ABOUT

RIOP (Richmond’s local group for Industrial-Organizational Psychologists) exists to help advance the area of work psychology by providing local networking opportunities and resources for professionals and students interested in improving the fit between the worker and the workplace.  You do not need to be a psychologist or I-O specialist to join our group – we welcome all professionals interested in the area of work.


  • MEETINGS: RIOP meets twice a year (the third Thursday in January and the third Thursday in August). We meet at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (or virtually, if needed) and details will be emailed to group members.
  • BLOG: The RIOP blog features information about research, events, conferences, and news. The RIOP blog also offer work-related resources and spotlight interviews to provide inspiring stories and resources.
  • NEWSLETTER: The RIOP newsletter features research tidbits, a book spotlight, wellness tips, and SIOP news. The Newsletter master page is HERE.

RIOP LEADERS

Dr. Yvette Prior

Dr. Yvette Prior started RIOP in December 2020 as a way to connect with others in the Richmond, Virginia area. Yvette’s work background is varied, which includes education, social work, and hospitality. Her seasoned background has enriched her writing and research, which has a focus on worker motivation and wellness. Dr. Prior enjoys co-leading this local group for work psychology.


Dr. Juanita Anderson

Dr. Juanita Anderson is a co-leader of RIOP and she retired from the army and now teaches adjunct at a local University while also holding a day job. Juanita is passionate about helping making the workplace more efficient and she enjoys exploring practical ways to help workers balance their workload.
